CAT REGISTERIES
There are two major cat registries in the USA. Purebred cats, including British Shorthair kittens & cats as well as Scottish Fold kittens & cats, can often register to both organization and therefore compete in both CFA and TICA sanctioned.
Both organizations have books/manuals of Show Rules and Breed Standards. They are periodically revised by the National Clubs of specific breeds,.
THE INTERNATIONAL CAT ASSOCIATION
The International Cat Association, aka TICA. TICA is more accepting of new breeds and colors not accepted by the Cat Fanciers Association, aka CFA. Because of this a TICA Cat Show can be more fun for people to attend due to having more cat breed varieties such as hybrid cats like the Bengals and Savannahs. They accept more colors for British Shorthair kittens & cats, as well as Scottish Fold kittens & cats.
THE CAT FANCIERS ASSOCIATION
The Cat Fanciers’ Association, aka CFA, is the oldest cat registry in the USA and therefore the world’s largest cat registry. What is great about CFA is the numbers of sanctioned Cat Shows available to attend in most areas of the country. Because of this, people have more opportunities to visit a CFA show in their community or within a reasonable distance. TICA shows are more challenging to find locally.

International Cat Care is a charity established in 1958. Initially called the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB), it exists because a group of very passionate cat lovers, led by Joan Judd, decided to do something about the dismal lack of information about cat health and welfare.

HARE TODAY is a great resource for learning about raw feeding your cat and other pets. They also offer raw food supplies.
LISA PIERSON, DVM is a raw food diet expert. Not only a veterinarian specializing in cats, she is a nutritionist as well. Dr. Pierson offers a wealth of information as well as her cat food recipes and resources.
